Mui Ne Fishing Village: The Local Life

Watch the sunrise and see hundreds of colorful fishing boats at the Mui Ne Fishing Village. A glimpse into the authentic daily life of a Vietnamese coastal town.

A. Overview

The Mui Ne Fishing Village is a peaceful area at the north end of Mui Ne bay. In the early morning, the water is filled with hundreds of colorful traditional fishing boats and round bamboo basket boats. It is a fantastic place to see the local fishing culture and the busy market where the night’s catch is sold on the beach.

B. Price & Services

  • Entrance Fee: Free.
  • Fresh Seafood: You can buy fresh crabs, clams, and fish directly from the fishermen and have them cooked at nearby stalls for a very low price.

C. Useful Tips

  • The Best Time: You must arrive early! 05:30 AM to 07:00 AM is when the village is most active. You can watch the fishermen bringing their catch to the shore and the local women sorting the seafood.
  • Photography: The viewpoint from the top of the stairs looking down at the bay filled with boats is one of the most famous photo spots in Mui Ne.
  • Smell: Be prepared for the strong smell of the ocean and fresh seafood. It’s an authentic working village, not a tourist park.

D. VnToYou Advice

“For a real local experience, we suggest spending about 30 minutes here during your morning Jeep tour. If you like seafood, this is the freshest place to find it. Just be careful with your shoes as the beach can be a bit messy with nets and shells. It’s a great spot to see the ‘real’ Mui Ne before it gets too hot.”
